Summers at Lake Winnipesaukee

In July 1987, we drove from Concord to my parents’ little summer cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee, in New Hampshire. Timmy was eight and Jessica had just turned five. I’d spent my own childhood summers there, and now they were racing down the same dock. Dad would pretend to grumble, “You two are scaring all my fish away!”

Jessica wanted to paddle the canoe herself, but mostly she sent us in circles. Mum called us in for supper from the porch, just as she had when I was little. We went back for two weeks every July. Those visits gave the children time with their grandparents that a Sunday lunch never could. To them it was a holiday; to me it was watching a place I loved become theirs, too.

Bring old family photos into focus.

  1. Digitize, if needed

If your photos are still prints, you can use a digitizing or restoration service of your choice to turn them into files. This step is optional: you can start with photos already on your phone or computer.

  2. Restore and enhance

Once a photo is digital, EverKnown can help improve how it looks and let you explore a colorized version. Your original always stays unchanged.

  3. Tell the photo’s story

Choose a photo and have a short conversation with your AI Guide about the people, the moment, and what you remember. Turn it into a standalone mini Story to keep alongside the photo.

There are many reasons to start. What’s yours?

  • There’s so much my family doesn’t know about me.

  • I want my grandchildren to hear my stories for themselves

  • I’d like to pass on some of what I’ve learned along the way

  • Sitting down to write about my life is hard. Simply talking is way easier
